The Scuba Sports Club (TSSC) is an independent, not-for-profit scuba club with members from Westchester and surrounding counties, in the state of New York. All are welcome at our monthly meetings. And check out our dive and social event calendars!

Every month we publish a newsletter, the Sea Swells Log, which includes reports on our recent and upcoming activities. Many of the recent issues are available on-line.

The Scuba Sports Club’s General Meetings

General meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month starting at 7:00 PM at Victor's Restaurant in Hawthorne, NY. Every month we have a program which includes a distinguished speaker. Presentations will begin promptly at 8:00 PM.

Dr. Richard A. Cooper, Managing Member. Founder of Ocean Technology Foundation. Professor Emeritus of Maritime Studies and Director Special Projects, University of Connecticut at Avery Point Campus. U.S. Navy and NOAA certified Aquanaut. Veteran of five saturation diving (habitats, submersible and diving bell lock-out) programs. Extensive manned submersible experience with twelve deep diving systems. Received NOGI award for Science Diver of the Year (1984). Former Director of National Undersea Research Center and Director of Marine Sciences and Technology Center at UConn. Former Director Manned Undersea Research and Technology Center, National Marine Fisheries Service and Director of Lobster Research Program, National Marine Fisheries Service, Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Author of numerous scientific articles on biology and ecology of marine sport and commercial fish and shellfish. President of Innerspace International, Inc. (IIC), a children's book publishing corporation.

Seabase 1 is the ideal extreme underwater adventure. Scientific researchers and anyone who yearns to know what it's like to actually like to live in the ocean for an extended period of time will find this to be the ultimate ecotourism destination.
